It has been a very busy fall so far. Lots of travel, navy related, art related and personal. I have been blessed to have been juried into the "Out and About in Norfolk" plein air event and it was lots of fun. One of my minatures was just juried into the "Small Works / Large Works" show at the Torpedo Factory (sponsored by The Art League) in Alexandria, VA. And, I will be showing / selling art during the "Great Artists of the 21st Century" student show in Arlington. This is a show of student's of Gwen Bragg, who teaches at The Art League. More on this show later.
My most exciting moment lately, was with my art students at Knollwood Retirement Community in DC. I teach art there once a week, on Wednesdays. We planned an art show that took place the last week of October. It was so much fun for everyone. We received some great support from the staff there and everyone (9 students) had at least 4 pieces of artwork in the show, some had 6. It was one of the most popular events of the year, according to many of the residents and staffers there. We had a "People's Choice Award" too! What great fun!

Artist's Statement
Just paint / draw / create. Do it to please - yourself, another or many. It's the desire to create that is an enigma and yet a basic understanding in life...to be able to create something that brings forth strong emotion or releases it. Fulfillment is creating every day and heightened happiness is creating something I love that someone else loves as well.
