Your "Happy Place"

If you have a cozy, favorite relaxation spot in your yard or special vacation get-a-way, take a few photos and let me capture the spot on canvas.  With some great colors and whimsical approach I can depict your corner of the world.  Then, you frame it and enjoy it during the winter months or rainy days when you can't be there.  It's uplifting to always have a joyful reminder of your "happy place"!

April 2015 - and always feel free to visit www.GinaWarrenBuzby.com

Hi Friends and Collectors,

Blogging is a great marketing tool, "they" say.  And, as a writer by hobby, I should be more diligent in posting a blog than I have been in the past.  As an artist by trade though it seems to be pushed back on the priority list all too often.  And usually by some art-related event, task or endeavor.  So, here we go again.

I have written a short story, "Plein Mysterious", about a plein air painter who finds a dead body!  It has been accepted into the East Beach Writer's Guild's forthcoming anthology.  As a member of the guild I was hoping to be included but not assured a place in the book. So, I am excited to have made the "juried process".  I will be including more information about the new book soon.

I've been very busy preparing for next Saturday's (April 18th) East Beach Art Show.  This will be my first outdoor art show as a participant.  I have wanted to be a part of one of these for a number of years but life as a nomadic military spouse has kept me from the commitment.  Now, that we are settled, our very own neighborhood (East Beach) hosts one that is on it's 7th year.  So, here I go.  Four very good friends have volunteered to assist, my husband will help me with set up and break down and I have been working very hard to have cards, prints and originals for purchase.  The tent set up looks great.  We did a "dry run" the other day and even though I don't have the fabric or grid walls, I have other unique items to assist with the displays.

If you are in the Hampton Roads area, please drop by Hammock Lane, Norfolk, VA from 10-5 on Saturday, April 18, 2015.  The show is being held at Pavilion Park in the East Beach neighborhood.  There will be at least 50 artists there and some live music to enjoy.

As always, if you don't see me posting on the blog - visit my website at GinaWarrenBuzby.com where I will be posting some of my latest work and more events to come...including...drum roll.............
The upcoming Open House of the Carriage House Art Studio!!!  (More soon!)

Take Care,
Gina

Artist's Statement

Just paint / draw / create. Do it to please - yourself, another or many. It's the desire to create that is an enigma and yet a basic understanding in life...to be able to create something that brings forth strong emotion or releases it. Fulfillment is creating every day and heightened happiness is creating something I love that someone else loves as well.
